MMmmm.. mixed results!! Nothing major though. One bug was so simple but it took me forever to figure out why it wasn't posting. No errors or freezes, everything looked fine but it was sticking on a thread and it took me about 2 hours to figure out. On another note, I got another module done that will extend the fight against CL security and makes ACL one of the most powerful posting programs. I'm not saying that using ACL will keep your accounts from getting the ban hammer, but using ACL to its fullest ability will definitely help. Don't ask me what it is because I'm not telling. Only one of my beta testers has that module and no others are getting it! It's so bad ass, it'll make you want to slap your momma and call her Craig!

Re: Dev Team Blog
I updated the time to wait between using accounts. Before (really for testing reasons) if you closed ACL it would lose the time that the account was used. Now it will notify you of when the account can be used again and if you change the time to wait, it will see that change and make adjustments accordingly.
There are some subtle changes I can do to the posting controller to make it a little better but for now, I'm going to keep it as is and work on some things that need to be attended to.

I just hit the delete button about 100 times. I'm starting ACL over from scratch!!
Just kidding
I did hit the delete button a lot though. Got rid of a bunch of, now unused, code. I wen't from 15 thousand lines of code to just over 13 thousand. It was kind of depressing seeing all of that beautiful code get deleted and if I had someone else sitting in my seat deleting it with me watching, they would have gotten knocked out.
This is the second 100% rewrite on the ACL posting engine, so the third time that I wrote it, all together. You know what they say, "third times a charm".

Awesome, multi-threaded posts with manual captcha input is alive!! What's cool is you can start a ton of posts and the captchas will pop up one after the other so you can just read it, type it and press enter. Easy mode!!! There are a few things I have to totally change before I can make the UI totally responsive while posts are going on without getting errors where files are in use if you change some of your settings or add in new ads. It's coming along very well and I get a little more happy with it each day.

Redoing the scheduler all together and it is going to take me about a week to complete. You are going to be able to do as many schedules as you want, instead of being limited to 1 per day. Adding in more things that I'm keeping secret, but you will be able to schedule more than just posting ads.
I've been looking into remaking the way that each individual thread is handled. I'm thinking about writing my own wrapper which will make it where I can control each thread exactly as I want to and should make the code run a little smoother. I'm really mapping it all out before I implement it and it might not even be available until after the release.

Re: Dev Team Blog
Well, I've added in some features that allow the user to control what happens to ads that fail. These controls are more on the manual side, as far as clicking a button for each failed ad but you can change the CL account and proxy before you repost it if you want.
The engine seems to be really strong now I watched it post about 30, simultaneous ads with no crashes. There was a few minor hick-ups here and there but they should be sorted out now.
I did very little work on the scheduler but haven't set my focus away from ACL. Hopefully things will be ready in about 10 days for you guys to get your hands on it.

Well, I thought remaking the scheduler would take me a while but it didn't. In doing so, I realized how far I've come as a programmer because I was able to do more with less lines of code than the previous scheduler that would only run a campaign. I don't even know how the old scheduler ran because the code was so chopped up and ugly it made me want to slap my momma!! That old saying, "Going around your elbow to get to your ass hole." It applies to the way the old scheduler was made and that was some code I was happy do delete! The new scheduler isn't finished yet but it is really close. Maybe another hour or 2 and it'll be finished.
Redid the the way that the threads are managed and it seems to be going good. There is still a few details I have to add to it but its 98% finished.
My next mission, which is going to take some time, is adding in the security. I have ideas of different ways to do it but I think I'm going to add in all of the ideas just to give any would be crackers a run for their money and a major head-ache! I'm also going to put in some extra nasties in there so when they think that it's cracked because it works, they are going to regret it. My actions are louder than my words, just ask anyone that personally knows me.

Re: Dev Team Blog
I rough coded the security, added the encryption to the server and to ACL. I put in a bunch of tricks and non-sense to fool would-be crackers. I need to do some more database work to ensure no injections can be made ect.. As a completion percentage, I'd say that ACL is about 90% so it is looking like a April 15th release. I need to make a sales page and redo these forums which will be for paid members only so it is getting a complete wipe out!!
I had a brain storm the other day and it will change the way that CL posters do their business. I'm not going to discuss it with anyone but a few key people and if ACL starts doing okay, I'm going to hire a small coding team to help me put it together. It will work along side of ACL to make CL want to disband their URL and give up. The CL auto-posting road has already been paved but I'm going to turn it into a highway and wear some big shoes that other CL auto-posters aren't going to be able to fill. I want to dominate!!
Anyone that has been using ACL since the early days has seen it go from, "I see why it's free" to, "Holy shit, I can't believe it's free". Well those free days are going to be behind us and the strength of the future ACL community will decide the fate of ACL. I have big plans and I want to push this further than anybodies expectations but can't do it without the proper support.

Re: Dev Team Blog
I haven't added to this for a while now, so I figured I would.
There has been a lot of changes, mostly minor fixes. The main thing that I'm happy about and it is coming along nicely, is the Proxy Share module. You will be able to share and borrow proxies based on a buddy system with other users of ACL. The only draw back, as of now is, the lack of members that ACL has. I hope this module will bring in more people and then word of mouth will get out and eventually this module will have more than the power it needs to greatly decrease ghosting which will bring more money to everybody's wallet.
Also added is the Ebay Classifieds poster. It works off of you original ads and posts them to EC. It is still in a rough beta phase and only available for housing but shortly after the release of the Proxy Share module, I'll add it over to the other sections so more people can start taking advantage of it.

Re: Dev Team Blog
The Proxy Share module works!! A few minor security flaws I need to fix and then I have to tackle the task of making it easier for users to reassign proxies to their buddies. The reassign is going to be automatic, for example;
PosterJim has 15 buddies that he shares some proxies with. The first of every month, PosterJim gets a new list of private proxies to use and his old ones no longer work. PosterJim will be able to add the new proxies into ACL and hit an Update Buddies button. This button will find the geo locations of his new proxies and reassign them to his buddies that are using a proxy from that location. PosterJim is shareing an Atlanta, GA proxy with PosterSam and none of PosterJims new proxies are based in Atlanta. PosterJim will be notified, PosterSam will be removed from PosterJims buddy list and PosterSam will be also notified about the change. It will be up to PosterSam to find a new buddy that is sharing a proxy from Atlanta, GA.
This is just minimal upkeep but the rewards are going to out weigh the upkeep time. If you are wondering about people being able to see what proxy their are using from a buddy, it is all encrypted and all the user will be able to see is the buddy name, the city and the state. ACL will handle the rest.
The scheduled release for the Proxy Share module is still set for the 15th which will give me a couple of days to play with it and have a stable release. On the 15th, the price of ACL will go up another 100 bucks so you should get in early and save yourself some money!
